Reported shooting leads Wyoming police on chase; 3 people taken to hospital

Police in Wyoming are investigating after shots were fired at a home last night.

WYOMING, MICH. - Three people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries Saturday night following a crash during a police chase in Wyoming. 

The Wyoming Department of Public Safety says officers responded to a report of shots being fired at a home near Francis Avenue and 36th Street SE around 10:43 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16.

Another caller gave a suspect and vehicle description to police. 

While checking the area, officers found a vehicle that matched the description and attempted to stop the driver in a a driveway near the home where the original shots fired report came from. The suspect drove through the backyard of the home and crashed through a fence to get away. 

The car was found again near 36th Street at Division Avenue and did not stop for officers. The officers followed the car as it sped across 32nd Street, but the driver left the road and hit a tree on Jefferson Avenue.

The driver and two passengers had to be pulled from the vehicle by rescue personnel. They were all taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
