GRATTAN TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A 58-year-old man is dead after an early morning crash in Kent County.

The two-car crash occurred just before 6 a.m., Nov. 9, at the intersection of 6 Mile and Lincoln Lake roads in Grattan Township.

According to the sheriff's department, a Saab was driving west on 6 Mile Road when the unnamed driver failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign at Lincoln Lake Road. At that time, the Saab crashed into a Pontiac Grand Am that was driving south on Lincoln Lake.

The driver of the Pontiac, 58-year-old David Cliff, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Saab was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Kent County Sheriff's Department. A form filled out by deputies at the scene indicate the at-fault driver might have been under the influence of alcohol, however, toxicology reports are pending to determine if alcohol were involved.
