KENT CITY, MICH. - A young girl is recovering at home after being hit by a car just outside an elementary school in northern Kent County.
According to the Kent County Sheriff's Department, it happened around 7:40 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, near the corner of Muskegon and East Streets. That's near Kent City Elementary School.
The girl was taken from the scene by ambulance to be checked out. She has since been released.
The school says it was a slow speed accident and the girl was not in a crosswalk.
The accident remains under investigation.
