Good Samaritans save unconscious woman from burning car

A 26-year-old Big Rapids woman is expected to live thanks to four people who pulled her from a burning car while she was unconscious.

GREEN TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A 26-year-old Big Rapids woman is expected to live thanks to four people who pulled her from a burning car while she was unconscious.

It all started around 10:57 p.m. Sunday, June 18 on 230th Avenue near 21 Mile Road. That's just northwest of Big Rapids.

Mecosta County deputies say the woman was heading north when she lost control of the car, which went sideways into a ditch and hit several trees.

The four people who pulled the woman from the car took her to a safe place where she came to. She was then taken to Spectrum Health Hospital Big Rapids.

Deputies believe the woman may have been drinking leading up to the crash.
