Grandville: Man, pregnant woman injured in crash

GRANDVILLE, MICH. - A man and pregnant woman were injured in a crash in Grandville on Friday evening.

According to Grandville police, the crash happened around 10 p.m. at the intersection of 44th Street and Ivanrest Avenue. 

Witnesses say a car driving northbound ran a red light and crashed into a pickup truck that was eastbound on 44th Street. 

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old Comstock Park man, have to cut from his car. He was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. His current condition is not known.

The 19-year-old pregnant woman was in the pickup truck and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. She is expected to recover.

Police say that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation. Police ask anyone with further information about the accident is encourage to call Grandville Police Department at 616-538-6110 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
