Man 'carelessly' riding dirt bike in critical condition after crash

OLIVE TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A man was seriously injured after crashing his dirt bike Saturday morning.

Ottawa County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on Sunday, around 9:40 a.m. in Olive Township. The accident happened on 128th Avenue north of New Holland Street. 

Officers report that Jose Garcia-Marmolejoh, 30, of Holland was riding a 2006 Yamaha YZ 450 dirt bike "carelessly" when he crashed in the middle of the roadway.

Garcia-Marmolejoh was not wearing a helmet and subsequently suffered a head injury, along with a serious leg injury. He was taken to Spectrum Hospital by AMR Ambulance -- he is listed as critical condition.

Ottawa County Sheriff's Office say this incident will remain under investigation.
