Man killed in single vehicle crash in Allegan County

DORR TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A man is dead after a single car crash in Allegan County.

Emergency responders were originally called to the scene around 12:20 a.m. Sunday, April 2, on reports of a loud bonfire -- but a homeowner in the area explained it was a crash, not a bonfire.

59-year-old Robert Martin Miklusicak was headed south on 24th Street when he missed the stop sign at the intersection with 138th Avenue. He did not stop at the stop sign, left the road and struck a tree.

The sheriff's department says the car flipped several times before stopping and catching on fire.

When fire fighters were able to put out the fire, Miklusicak was found dead inside the vehicle.
