No students hurt, driver in serious condition when SUV rear-ended Oakridge school bus

Driver of SUV seriously hurt after colliding with school bus

EGELSTON TOWNSHIP, MICH. - An Oakridge Public School bus and a small SUV were involved in a traffic accident this morning.

Maple Island Road was closed just north of Apple Avenue while crews remained on scene Friday, Nov. 4.

According to a new release, the female driver of the Toyota Rav4 involved in the accident rear-ended the school bus while it was stopped to let students board. 

Oakridge's superintendent told WZZM 13's Jon Mills, all 23 students riding the bus the time of the accident were not injured. Students were taken to school by another bus.

Police report that the driver of the Rav4 suffered serious injuries in the accident and was transported to Hackley Hospital. Her current condition is still unknown.
