One dead, two seriously hurt in Newaygo Co. crash

SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- A Walkerville woman was killed Monday when her vehicle was struck head-on by a car in Newaygo County.

The crash happened around 12:15 p.m. on Maple Island Avenue near 96th Street. Michigan State Police say a Chevy four-door vehicle was headed northbound on Maple Island when it crossed the center line and drove into the path of a Chevy Blazer.

The driver of the Blazer, Frances Brink, 57, of Walkerville was airlifted to Spectrum Health Butterworth where she died a short time later. Her husband, Arthur Brink and the driver of the car, 49-year-old Todd Raby, are both hospitalized in serious condition.

Neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the crash, state police said.
