Sheriff: Man without license killed after driving through fence row

BERRIEN COUNTY, MICH. - Authorities are attempting to identify a man killed after driving through a long stretch of fencing in Berrien County.

According to the Berrien County Sheriff's Office, just before 6:50 a.m. Sunday, emergency workers were called to a single-vehicle crash on M-139 north of Dickenson Road in Royalton Township.

A Ford Fusion was northbound on the highway when it went off the roadway and drove through a long stretch of fencing, deputies say.

A man was found dead at the scene.

He did not have a driver's license on his person -- officers are now attempting to identify him and notify family of his passing.

The Berrien County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team was called in to further investigate the incident. The Ford Fusion has been secured as evidence in the investigation.
