Speed considered a factor in crash that injured motorcyclist

Motorcyclist seriously hurt in Robinson Township crash

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A motorcyclist is in serious condition this morning after a late night crash in Robinson Township.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department says 19-year-old Grant Hammil pulled out in front of 26-year-old Ron Green on Bass Drive from 96th Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, June 8.

Hammil told deputies he stopped at the stop sign and saw the motorcycle, but it was in the distance. When he made his turn, Green was right in front of him and they collided.

Green was thrown from his bike and suffered leg and back injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.

Deputies say speed may be a factor in the crash that remains under investigation.
