Trial ordered in July shooting at trailer park in Jamestown Township

Hudsonville man to stand trial in roommate's shooting

HUSDONVILLE, MICH. (WZZM) - An Ottawa County man had been ordered to stand trial for shooting his roommate during  mid-July argument at a Jamestown Township trailer park.

Ryan James Terbeek, 38, waived a preliminary hearing this week in Hudsonville District Court, sending the case to trial in Ottawa County Circuit Court.

The shooting occurred July 19, but court hearings have been delayed due to the condition of the victim, who was hospitalized for several weeks with a critical gunshot to the abdomen.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department said Terbeek and his 29-year-old roommate were arguing about 9:45 p.m. at County Hills Village mobile home park on Rockwood Drive when the shooting occurred.

Terbeek was waiting for police when they responded to a 911 call. He’s charged with assault with intent to murder, a potential life offense, and felony use of a firearm.

Terbeek remains held in the Ottawa County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
