FLIMT, MICH.,(WZZM)- - GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump arrived in Flint Wednesday afternoon.
His first stop was at the Flint Water Plant which has been at the center of a water crisis since the city switched from Detroit's water system to the Flint River to save money. Tests later showed that the river water was never treated and was actually sent through aging pipes, that caused toxic lead to get into the drinking water.
The trip also included a stop at a Flint church, where Trump talked about the problems facing the city. He also addressed NAFTA and how it has affected the city.
“We shouldn’t allow it to happen, they'll [Mexico] make cars, employ people not from this country and we'll have more unemployment in Flint."
This was Trump's second visit to Michigan in the last two weeks. He moved on to a rally in Canton, OH.
