Two women seriously injured after crash in Ionia county

BERLIN TOWNSHIP, MICH. - Two women were seriously injured after a crash in Ionia County Thursday evening, Michigan State Police say.

The crash happened Thursday, June 22, just after 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Grand River Avenue and Jordan Lake Road in Berlin Township, according to Michigan State Police.

A Ford Edge SUV was driven by a 26-year-old Clarksville woman, traveling eastbound on Grand River Avenue. A 52-year-old Saranac woman driving a Chevrolet Silverado was stopped at the stop sign when she was hit by the woman driving the Ford Edge. 

Both were were hospitalized following the crash and the driver of the Silverado was airlifted from the scene, but is listed in stable condition. 

The cause of the accident is still under investigation police say, but alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
