U.S. Government plane lands at Ford International Airport

USA plane

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. -  A large government aircraft landed at Grand Rapids International Airport Wednesday afternoon with the words ''United States of America'' on the side and the symbol of an American flag on the tail.

A viewer sent us the picture and says the plane on the runway landed around 2:45 p.m.

We have reached out to officials at the airport to learn more. The sent us an the following email:

No VIP on board, that plane occasionally lands here briefly, and then {the planes} go on their way. Not sure if it was a crew change or fueling or training, I can’t confirm anything on the why they were here.

A search for the tail number seems to show the plane has been used to fly government officials including the Speaker of the House.

In the past Education Secretary Betsy DeVos has said she flies on her family's private plane with no cost to the United States taxpayers.
