Battle Creek Enquirer Reporter Sara Dorn prepares for liftoff

(BATTLE CREEK ENQUIRER - Sara Dorn) - I moved to Battle Creek just one week ago, and in my short time here I've seen the city from a view many of its residents haven't: hanging upside down as the passenger in John Klatt's MXS aircraft.

Klatt, who will perform at the Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival this weekend, took me on a rolling fly through the sky that was easily my life's most thrilling experience. I was yelling and laughing hysterically as we spun straight up into the clouds and dove back down through the smoke, performed multiple snap rolls, hammerhead turnarounds and flew invertedly - only some of the tricks the aerobatic master will do at this weekend's spectacles.

"I'm really excited to be back in Battle Creek," said Klatt, who is here for the air show for the third time. "The people here are so nice and there's such great hospitality. We love the enthusiasm people have for the air show here and they do a great job promoting it."
