SAUGATUCK, Mich. (WZZM)- For a fifth year, The Village Puppeteers will put on Saturday shows for the public.

This year's performance is called "Feats of Magic and Amazing Puppetry.

It takes place at the Saugatuck Lodge, just north of the bridge on Blue Star Highway.

Troupe members say it's a great summertime activity for both tourists and locals.

Michael Schwabe explains, "Everyone is familiar with puppets on television,  so what we like to do is keep alive the tradition of hand and rod puppetry with live vocals."

Larry Basgall adds, "Everybody likes to go to the beach but you come in here and you can have a nice fun time making puppets with your grandkids and children, meet puppeteers, be in a nice group and meet nice people."

Cost for the show and a puppet making workshop afterwards is $10 each.

Performance times are at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. every Saturday until August 25th.
