EPA releases National Rivers and Streams Assesment.

Hastings, MI (WZZM) - Today marks the end of the Thornapple River Expedition.

Over the past week, hundreds of people joined in to explore the Thornapple River from near Lansing ending up in Ada.

Erv Gambee, President of Thornapple River Watershed Council said, "This is the first time, it's a take off on the Grand River Expedition which is done every ten years and it's really to raise awareness of the river and the importance to the community and the environment."

The'll be wrapping things up at Tassell Park in Cascade.  Closing ceremonies will be held at the DNR boat launch in Ada.

In a few months, the group will cover the same stretch of the river in an effort to clean it up.
