(WZZM) -- It features piano music, a Tim Allen-like voice, familiar Michigan scenery -- and a cat sitting on it's owner's face.

It's in one of two new videos released by the Michigan Humane Society to promote cat adoption in a campaign called -- fittingly -- "Purr Michigan."

The other video encourages pet owners to sit a home, spending a day petting their cat.

Executives with the humane society say they hope the videos will lead more people to adopt cats during the summer, which can be a slow period for shelters and rescue groups to find homes for animals.

"In 'Purr Michigan,' we want to bring attention to a serious problem in a fresh, funny and unique way," says Michael Robbins, the vice president for marketing and communications at the Michigan Humane Society.  "Given how rewarding cat ownership can be, everyone will want to experience 'Purr Michigan' firsthand!"

The society expects to release more videos following the "Purr Michigan" theme in the coming months.
