Dorr, MI (WZZM) - There's a rumor around the town of New Salem that farmer, Jeff Lenhart's back woods are haunted. WZZM's own Madeline Segura and Alana Nehring decided to check it out.
Apparently, the ghouls are fake... but the screams are real!
Madeline and Alana got to see firsthand what it takes to work in a haunted house for the night.
Makeup is a key component for a good scare. Artist, Jenni Sterken explains; "I'm just going to shade your eyes... to make you look dead. This is my second year painting for the New Salem Corn Maze. Last year we were hand painting. This year we are trying airbrushes. Airbrushing goes a lot quicker... and it's a lot more realistic looking."
But as realistic as our dead eyes were; not everyone was fooled.
The Witches of New Salem is open the 28th, 30th and 31st of October. Scares begin at dusk. Combo tickets for the haunted woods and corn maze are available for $20.
