For months, it has seemed that Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander and Michigan-born supermodel Kate Upton have been a secret couple.
But this morning on WJBK-TV (Channel 2), while promoting her cover appearance on the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, Upton denied having a boyfriend.
It came up when she was asked about a report that she and Verlander rang in the New Year together in St. Thomas.
"Actually, I'm single right now, so I spent my holiday in Melbourne, Fla.," Upton said, without any indication of a desire to elaborate.
