ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Grand Haven Tribune)- They say what goes up must come down - and that was true Tuesday at the Boon residence on Green Street, where the family's windmill was dismantled for future use at a Coopersville museum.
"This was such a labor of love of my dad's and we didn't want to see it destroyed over time," said Doug Boon, son of the late Peter Boon Jr.
Monday's rain was no detriment to work crews, who made quick work of taking down the windmill in the morning. This work allowed the windmill's 10-foot-wide head, along with the base tower, to be transported to its new home at the Coopersville Farm Museum.
