Widow: Michigan vet's death was avoidable

BATTLE CREEK (WZZM) - George Dalrymple was laid to rest today at Fort Custer National Cemetery. His widow, Lois, is convinced he went to his grave, because his government failed him, several times.

Dalrymple, 67, was a Vietnam Veteran. There, he was exposed to the cancer-causing herbicide Agent Orange. Dalrymple died of cancer last week in Mears.

He was also delayed treatment by the Veterans Administration hospital in Phoenix, his wife Lois said Friday. "I am so angry that I am going to be an advocate for the veterans. My heart is with the veterans because my husband suffered, for no reason."

A contingent of Patriot Guard motorcycle riders escorted Dalrymple's family to his burial Friday.
