Woman critically injured after falling from moving car, police looking for witnesses

EMMETT TOWNSHIP, MICH. - Investigators are searching for witnesses after a woman fell from a moving vehicle Thursday.

Jodi Thompson, 41, of Battle Creek, was critically injured and not expected to survive, according to Detective Seth Graves of the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety.

Graves said the woman fell from a westbound white Chevrolet Venture driven by her 47-year-old boyfriend.

He left the scene but witnesses gave police a description of the vehicle and Battle Creek police stopped him about 15 minutes later.

Graves said he was questioned and released and no charges have been sought.
