Woman suspected in Kalamazoo attempted armed robbery

KALAMAZOO, MICH. - Deputies are looking for a woman who attempted to rob a Shell Food Mart in the village of Augusta early Friday morning.

It happened just before 1 a.m. at the store on East Michigan Avenue on July 21. The woman confronted the clerk and demanded money. She implied she had a weapon, but the clerk never saw it.

Before the attempted robber could get any cash, another customer entered the store and she ran away. Law enforcement attempted to use a K-9 unit to track the suspect, but were not successful.

The suspect is described as a white female, 5'6" tall with a medium build, wearing all black clothing. She had a diamond stud piercing in her left nostril and was last seen running north from the scene.
