MORTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) - Members of the Michigan State Police bomb squad were called to a Mecosta County house Monday after a resident found three World War II-era hand grenades.

State police say members of a family were cleaning out the house when they discovered the explosives.

Two of the grenades were of Japanese origin and the other was a high-explosive American grenade. All three were authentic with pins and the original hardware still in place.

Upon further investigation, police determined the devices were harmless and all the explosive material had been removed.
