MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM) - An industrial fire kept firefighters from six Muskegon County departments busy Wednesday afternoon.
The metal building in the 2500 block of South Slocum Road houses Cast Metal Core. The company makes sand cores for foundries. Fire officials say a wall heater ignited combustible materials that were too close to the unit.
Three adults, including the building's owner, were inside when the fire started. Two adults were living inside a small office inside the building. All three were uninjured.
Heavy smoke could be seen for several miles and filled another building next door to the factory. .
