Giant Awards to honor African American community

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- It's the 30th anniversary of an event celebrating the achievements and contributions of Grand Rapids' African American community.

The "Giant Awards" banquet happens tonight at DeVos Place.

It honors people and organizations for their community involvement and leadership.

The "Giant of Giants" winner will be revealed at Saturday night's event where 750 people are expected to attend.

Take Five's Associate Producer Eddie Rucker will co-host the event.
