The Rapid Wealthy Operations Center celebrates new facility

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- The Rapid Wealthy Operations Center will celebrate its new facility with a ribbon cutting Saturday afternoon.

The Wealthy Operations Center project began in December 2009.

The $31-point-four million dollar project was funded by Recovery Act grants, federal capital grants and a $4.2 million dollar match from m-dot.

The Wealthy Operations Center houses the rapid's dispatch center, maintenance facilities, and training center.

It also provides the storage area for its fleet of 117 fixed route buses.
