GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- At Gerald Ford International Airport, tropical travelers are getting a rude awakening.
Many at the airport came back to West Michigan Sunday wearing shorts or sandals, which they quickly had to trade in for an ice scraper.
Across town, plow driver Christopher Harris wlcomed the snow. He says up until a few weeks ago, his company was still doing landscaping work.
"[It's] scary to think if we didn't get snow. The payments for the equipment doesn't care," said Harris.
He's urging people to steer clear of plows on the roadway. Harris says many drivers are following too close and slamming into the trucks.
