SPARTA, Mich. (WZZM) - Hundreds of people in northern Kent County missed the final minutes of Super Bowl LXVI because of a power outage Sunday night.

A Consumers Energy spokesman says something hit a power pole extremely hard, causing the pole's fuses to open. It's not clear what it was that hit the pole.

That caused 448 homes in the Sparta area to lose power just before 9:30 Sunday night. At that point, there were about seven minutes left in the game.

Power was restored at 11:07 p.m.
