GOLDEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM)-- The hot, dry conditions helped fuel a dune fire in Oceana County.

The flames were spotted around 4:06 p.m. in the 4200 block of North Ridge Road in Golden Township.

Hart Fire Chief Ken Klotz says the fire scorched grass and spread to some wooden stairs leading up to a beach house, but crews were able to cut off the stairs before the fire could damage any buildings.  Five fire departments responded to the fire.  Crews had the flames contained by 7 p.m.
