WAYLAND, Mich. (WZZM)- The Wayland Union Schools administrative team says it will make the High School available to serve as a "cooling and hydration center" on Friday July 6th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In an email, Wayland School Board member Jeffrey Salisbury noted that the cafeteria will provide water throughout the day, televisions will operate in the Great Hall and the Fine Arts Center will have movies playing throughout the day. Additionally, the swimming pool will be open as well with a lifeguard on duty.

Superintendent Norm Taylor will be sending out an "instant alert" to families in the district.

Families and parents may also wish to bring in their own board or table games. Children will need to be properly supervised.
