UPDATE 3:15PM - The ramp from southbound US-131 to westbound I-196 has now reopened.
UPDATE: 7:00AM - Southbound US-131 has reopened after the burned-out semi-truck has been hauled from the scene.
The ramp to WB-196 is still closed.
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- The southbound lanes of US-131 have been shut down at Leonard Street due to a fire from a semi trailer crash. The crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
Grand Rapids Police say the driver of the truck escape unharmed, but the diesel fuel ignited causing the fire. We do not know what caused the crash.
Police hope to open one lane of southbound 131 around 2 a.m.
