SECOND ANNUAL "HOPTOBERFEST" RETURNS TO DOWNTOWN GRAND RAPIDS SEPT. 15-16
Two-day craft beer and music festival to feature 40 Michigan breweries and the "World's Largest Beer Brunch"
WHAT: HopCat's second annual craft beer and music festival, Hoptoberfest, will return to the streets of downtown Grand Rapids this weekend with some new features. Now a two-day event, the festival will include a larger entertainment lineup of nationally acclaimed bands, 40 breweries from across the state, and the WORLD'S LARGEST BEER BRUNCH. More than 6,000 people are expected to attend. The event will close Ionia St. SW between Weston and Oakes streets.
New Orleans-based funk band Dumpstaphunk, featuring front man Ivan Neville, will headline the festival with special guest FISHBONE. Other acts include Sophistafunk, Otis, Funktion, The Ark Band, and GR Soul Club.
On the final day of the fest, event staff will admit the first 2,000 HoptoberFest ticket holders free of charge to the outdoor beer brunch on a first come, first served basis. In addition to a breakfast buffet, a cash bar will offer locally-brewed craft beer, as other cocktails.
