ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) - Kent County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a deadly accident involving a motorcycle and Ford Explorer. The crash happened around 11:25 a.m. Friday on 7 Mile Rd. Near Comstock Park Dr. NW.
Deputies say the driver of a westbound Explorer crossed the center line and into the path of an eastbound motorcycle. The motorcyclist, Darrell Proctor, 42, of Trufant was killed. Authorities say he was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the Explorer, Jim Twork, 36, of Rockford, was not hurt. Deputies say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
