GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - There are so many interesting stories from ArtPrize, finding one is as easy as shooting a toy dart gun at a map.

That's what the WZZM 13 Morning News started doing Tuesday morning, and will continue to do for the entire ArtPrize competition.  On Tuesday, the dart landed in a Westside neighborhood near the corner of Fourth St. and Broadway.

WZZM's Brent Ashcroft and Steve Zaagman were dispatched to that location to find a story. Once Brent and Steve arrived at the location, they pulled out an iPhone and checked the ArtPrize app. The app told them there was an ArtPrize venue a block away, and a total of four venues within a five-block radius.

The venue closest was a business entitled, "OST" (which stands for - Open Systems Technologies).

"The Westside isn't always a feature area of ArtPrize, so we're trying to highlight some of the amazing things that are going on on the Westside," said Michael Lomonaco, OST marketing director.  OST will be featuring two ArtPrize pieces during the competition.

After OST, Brent & Steve visited the next closest venue, O'Tools Public House, a food and beer place on Bridge street.

Amy Scytko explained why a visit was worth it, "We have the best burgers and drinks in Grand Rapids, and awesome art!"

There are three pieces of art in the establishment, but not everyone in the resturant was a fan of what was hanging on the wall.

"I hope I didn't insult anybody when I said I wouldn't hang that in my home, explains Becki-Jo Farrick, a Zeeland resident, as she looked at an unusual painting.

The Westside is full of amazing and strange pieces, and if you find yourself near Fourth and Broadway make sure to hit the nearby venues for something a little off the beaten path.

While you're at ArtPrize, keep and eye out for a chance to win $1,300. WZZM 23 has 13 posters with various logos from the last 50 years posted at several venues.

If you find one, just go to: WZZM13.com/artprize and match the poster's number with the venue you found it at.

You can also scan the QR code with your smartphone.  The more you find, the more chances you have to win.  For clues, watch WZZM 13 or visit our website, Facebook or Twitter pages.
