Motorcycle and SUV crash at 48th and Barry in Blendon Township in Ottawa County.

BLENDON TOWNSHIP, Michigan (WZZM) - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday in Ottawa County. The accident happened at 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of 48th Avenue and Barry Street, near Hudsonville.

Sheriff's deputies say the driver of a Chevy Trailblazer stopped at a stop sign then crept forward to see over a hill. This forced a passing motorcyclist to swerve and strike the Trailblazer.

Cletis Burmingham, 58, of Grand Haven Township was thrown from his motorcycle and died at the scene.

The driver of the Trailblazer, Keri Folkema, 26, of Hudsonville was not hurt. A one-year-old child in the SUV was also uninjured.

Authorities say the Burmingham was wearing a helmet.
