UPDATE 4 p.m. (WZZM) - Hondo has been found, safe and well.  Owners made house-to-house inquiries and found a homeowner who had seen Hondo.  Hondo was located in the nearby woods.

WAYLAND, Mich. (WZZM) - A large, championship show horse named Hondo escaped from its owner near Wayland Monday, and Deb Drenten is hoping someone may be able to help.

Hondo is a large chestnut gelding, with a white diamond mark on his forehead and white on one rear hoof.   Drenten says he is friendly and would likely come to someone with an apple or carrot.

He escaped from his harness on a trail near Bowens Mill Road and Patterson in Yankee Springs Township.  There is a reward for his return.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen the horse is urged to call Drenten at 269-680-2176.
