UPDATE 2:30PM - (WZZM) - The Holland Department of Public Safety tells WZZM that Shane Benedict, the man who fled a crash scene early this morning, has been located.
Benedict was found at his parents' home in Allegan County. He was cooperative with police and has been released pending charges from the Ottawa County Prosecutor.
Holland DPS also says that three of the victims in the crash have been treated and released from the hospital. A fourth victim remains hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) - Three people were taken to the hospital after an early morning crash in Holland.
Holland Police tell WZZM 13 that a mini-van heading westbound on 24th Street, stopped at the stop sign, but then crossed into traffic on Country Club Road. A Honda Civic heading south on Country Club struck the van and the van rolled over.
The driver of the van fled the scene and police are still searching for him. Two other occupants in the van tell police that the driver fled the scene on foot. Both of those people have been taken to the hospital for their injuries.
The driver of the van is identified as Shane Benedict. The passengers in the van have been identified as Mike Sosa and Alicea Dieppa.
The driver of the Honda Civic, Ashley Charles, 19, from Fennville, was taken to Holland Hospital with head injuries. The passenger in her vehicle is identified as Justin Torres.
Investigators say that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
