HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) - With just a couple weeks until the election, political fever is spreading into Halloween stores. The Halloween Store at Westshore Mall in Holland is selling masks of President Obama and his Republican opponent Mitt Romney. The store says its biggest political seller is a zombie version of President Obama. Employees say many customers are actually buying masks of the candidate who they don't support.
"The one I sold of Mitt Romney was an Obama supporter, that was going to dress it up and do whatever they wanted with it, to make it what they wanted. He was all for Obama, he just wanted the Romney mask so he could put make up on it or whatever he was going to do," says Bruce Smith, Halloween Store employee.
According to our media partner, the USA Today, many Big Bird costumes have also been selling, because of comments Mitt Romney made about Public Broadcasting. The Halloween Store in Holland expects political costumes to increase in sales, the closer it gets to the election.
