DETROIT, Mich. (WZZM)-Comerica Park is expected to be at capacity Saturday night, as nearly 42,000 fans cheer on the Tigers.
Before the game, many fans talked about the number of police officers patrolling the streets. Detroit officers teamed up with state and federal law enforcement agencies for the World Series to ensure everyone is safe.
WZZM 13's Juliet Dragos spoke caught up with quite a few Tigers fans from West Michigan; all of them were excited to be there and filled with hope.
"It's been on my bucket list and it's my grandson's 21st birthday and so we just thought we'd try it," said Terry Howard of Grand Rapids.
"It's special you know you get this relationship bonding getting to share the first victory of the World Series in 2012 here for the Tigers," said Rick Steeby of Grand Rapids.
A bride and groom walking outside Comerica Park said they had already planned their wedding before knowing the Tigers were in the World Series. They're big Tigers fans and hope the team will give them a victory as a wedding gift.
