MONTCALM TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Approximately 575 Consumers Energy customers are without power due to an outage Monday night.

The outage north of Greenville started around 6:15 p.m. Monday.  It is centered around the intersection of West Sidney Road and M-91 in Montcalm Township.

A spokesman for the utility says the outage was caused by a traffic accident where a vehicle hit a pole.

The Consumers Energy website says a crew is working to restore power.  Customers are expected around 9 p.m. Monday.
