Miss New York Mallory Hytes Hagan reacts after being crowned Miss America 2013, Las Vegas, Nevada,
ADA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) - Miss America 2013 is in West Michigan this week to visit her sponsor, Amway.
Miss New York, Mallory Hagan will also stop by local middle schools to discuss the importance of education. Monday, she met with Amway employees and toured the company's research and development facilities.
While she's touring the nation as part of her Miss America duties, her future includes a lot of education.
"I have one more semester left to get my associates at the Fashion Institute of technology in New York City, and then I'll be reapplying for my bachelor's which will be in cosmetics marketing, so I have a few more years of school left, and once that's done I'll have enough money probably to go to grad school," says Hagan.
Hagan was crowned Miss America on January 12 in Las Vegas. During her year-long reign, she will travel about 20,000 miles per month.
