BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) - An 18-year-old Ferris State University student's condition is improving weeks after he was found nearly dead in a snowbank.
Nicholas Suttles, 18, has been upgraded from critical condition to serious at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.
Suttles was found by a passing student on the morning of February 15. Police say the freshman brought his own alcohol to an off-campus party. While walking home early that morning he passed out in the snow, without a coat.
Suttles had severe hypothermia and was discolored when discovered. He was first thought to be dead, but was revived while en route to the hospital.
