GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - A 17-year-old Comstock Park High School student has been arrested and charged with threatening to kill students and sexually assault another.
According to the Kent County Sheriff's Office, Benjamin Malachino made the threats on March 4. Malachino allegedly sent text message threats to a female student that he was going to sexually assault her and that he also intended to lock down the high school and kill several students.
In his text message, Malachino allegedly included the names of three students that he intended to kill. Two of those students were from Comstock Park and the third was from Kenowa Hills High School.
The families and the schools involved in the threats were all notified.
Malachino was arraigned Monday in 63rd District Court on a charge of Threats of Terrorism, which is a 20-year felony. He is currently being held at the Kent County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
