Congressman Bill Huizenga
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- The speculation about who will fill Carl Levin's position in the Senate continues. One name mentioned is lakeshore Congressman Bill Huizenga.
Despite our best efforts, we couldn't get the congressman to say whether he's interested.
"There's a number of people that are out looking at it and we're going to have a good crop of republicans all vying for that. I've had a few people contact me, but I'm focused on trying to make sure I'm the best Congressman for the Second District that I possibly can be, and that will take care of itself in the future," Huizenga told WZZM 13 Monday.
Levin, a democrat, announced he will retire at the end of his term. He has served in the senate since 1978.
