Joint Preservation Options for Hip and Knee Pain

Spring is just around the corner and people are itching to get back outdoors. After a winter trapped inside, it's easy to overdue it and increase the risk of sports-related injuries. Dr. Wierks specializes in sports medicine and hip arthroscopy, and understands the unique needs and challenges that active people face. Dr. Wierks first looks for non-surgical solutions. If they aren't possible, he next turns to minimally invasive techniques including arthroscopy of the shoulder, hip and knee.

Dr. Wierks discusses treatment options for early arthritis of the hip and knee, sports injuries including ligament, cartilage and labral tears and techniques to preserve cartilage.

Dr. Wierks will be giving a free public presentation on this same topic on March 14th at Holland Hospital from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. The public can register at (616) 394-3344 or online at www.hollandhospital.org
