DETROIT, Mich. (WZZM) - Evidence a West Michigan man played a significant role in the crimes and conviction of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, is now public.

Monday,  a jury convicted Kilpatrick, his father Bernard, and close friend Bobby Ferguson on a number of charges, including bribery, racketeering and tax evasion.

Forest Hills Northern graduate James Rosendall, 45, provided some of the evidence. Rosendall admitted he distributed cash and gifts to the defendants while trying to win a $1 billion sewer sludge contract for his Texas based company.

When Rosendall was cornered by the FBI, he agreed to secretly record transactions and testify against the Kilpatricks. Several segments were played for the jury during the trial.

For his part in the conspiracy, Rosendall was sentenced to less than a year in a minimum security facility.

Kwame Kilpatrick and his friend Bobby Ferguson are in jail awaiting sentencing. Bernard Kilpatrick was only found guilty on one of four charges, tax evasion.  However,  he faces prosecution in at least one other case.
