Restuarant Week Feeds Hungry In More Ways Than One

ROCKFORD (WZZM) -- Some area restaurants are looking for a boost in business during Rockford Restaurant Week beginning Monday, March 18.

The event features 6 days, 8 restaurants a lot of great food.

Customers can choose from a multi-course meal or two entrees. The event will show off the local dining scene, talented chefs and one dollar from each order will go to the Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank.

Rockford Restaurant Week starts Monday March 18th and runs through March 23rd. The cost is 25-dollars.

Participating restaurants include: Amore Trattoria Italiana, Blue Water Grill, Bostwick Lake Inn, Flo's Pizzeria Ristorante & Sports Bar, Grill One Eleven, Reds on the River, Timbers Inn and Honey Creek Inn.

Honey Creek Inn Lead Chef, Laurel Deruda,  stopped by the WZZM Studios to share the recipes for one of the dishes featured at her restaurant:

Tzatziki Sauce

4 Cloves Garlic, Smashed then Minced
1 Seedless Cucumber, peeled and grated
1 32oz containers of PLAIN (not vanilla) Yogurt
2 Lemons, juiced
1/2 Tbsp Kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 bunch fresh mint, chopped

Mix well

Falafel Crusted Salmon

2 Six ounce Salmon Fillets
1 C Falafel Mix
2 Tbsp Olive Oil

Dredge Fish in Falafel Mix. Heat oil in sauté pan. Add fish and cook approximately 3 minutes on each side. Serve with Tzatziki Sauce and Lemon
